Crankcase filter18-5775, also known as the crankcase vent filter (CCV), is a component of the crankcase ventilation system of boats.
This filter is part of the crankcase ventilation system in a small number of internal combustion engines, including vintage/muscle boats and other marine engines.
The pistons of the engine push gases into the crankcase as it runs.
These gases cause a pressure buildup, robbing the engine of its operational power.
The crankcase system's purpose is to improve pressure relief by releasing excess gas into the environment or rerouting it back to the engine.
