DRAIN SCREW ALLAN HEAD MAGNET - 318544 is a type of screw with a magnet inside that is composed of sturdy material. It is custom-made to gather any metal particles the oil filter misses, extending the engine's useful life. Particles are captured to prevent them from slipping through the gear mesh or the bearings. Particles larger than metal shavings make up sludge. The way an oil filter can capture all the metal particles via magnets. The magnets in the filter remove all the metal particles from the motor oil as it passes through it.
