18-7841 Fuel Pump Diaphragm by Sierra for Yamaha Outboard Motors Fits: 30 HP. A faulty fuel pump diaphragm will result in lower fuel pressure than is required for the engine to work correctly. The diaphragm is an integral part of the fuel lift pump system of your engine. Diaphragm pumps employ a flexing membrane over a fuel bowl. The bowl's input and output include check valves to guarantee one-way fluid flow. As the diaphragm rises, a vacuum is created, sucking fuel from the tank into the bowl.
