The GASKET (REC90430-08020) is a high-quality lower unit oil drain gasket. It is a mechanical seal that fills the gap between two or more mating surfaces, preventing leakage from or into the joined objects when compressed. The quality of the gasket is chosen to avoid leaking when subjected to varying amounts of compression. It is critical for industrial applications such as oil refineries and drilling rigs, where the gasket must bear severe compressive loads without leaking.
