These seals retain gearbox lubrication and prevent contaminants from entering. The lubrication loss is the primary reason for premature bearing failure on the gearbox. Keeps lubrication in the bearing housing to prevent failure that leads to unexpected downtime and high maintenance costs. The other reason for leaking and seal failure is improper installation or misalignment. It is installed in the wrong direction or becomes damaged during installation.
