The engine coolant loses heat after passing through the radiator, powered by the engine's water pump. The hose, which controls the flow of coolant from your water pump to the heater, is a crucial component of your cooling system. Before the coolant returns to your engine to start the process over again, the hose removes any extra heat from it.
