Impellers are used to power an engine's cooling system. Running a pump dry or through silty or sandy water will soon destroy an impeller and cause the motor to overheat. The impeller must be checked and replaced regularly to keep your Mercury outboard's cooling system in peak shape. Every Sierra impeller meets or exceeds the manufacturer's standards, ensuring correct fit and function for boaters and technicians. Having a backup is the best method to rescue the day if something goes wrong unexpectedly. Chrysler 47-42038-2, GLM 89451, Mallory 9-45309, Mercury 47-42038-2, 47-420381 are interchangeable with the Sierra 18-3062 Impeller.
