Bilge pumps, a maritime water pump, are found on large and small ships. They are responsible for removing and dumping any water that accumulates in bilge wells. It is impossible to stop water and oil from building up in your bilge wells (the bottom-most part of a boat). These liquids typically come from machinery rooms or drainage systems of large boats. Smaller boats may experience flooding of the bilge well from heavy rain to high waves. Boat bilge pumps all serve the same function, but they come in a variety of forms, sizes, and capacities. Bilge pumps have been around for a very long time.
