The purpose of O rings is to seal a joint between two pieces so that no air, gas, or liquid can flow through. The dynamic environment involving high-speed movement can limit their effectiveness. If an O ring wears out, it impacts productivity whenever two pieces of a machine are connected, oil or other substance seeping through the spot where the two edges meet.
