The Oetiker Group, established in Switzerland in 1942, makes a range of connection options for automotive, hydraulic, oil and gas, and other industries and makes some of the most reliable semi-permanent clamping systems. Hose and flexible tubing are clamped to fittings using a hose and band clamps. Over the fitting, the clamp is positioned directly around the hose.
A type of hose clamp known as an ear clamp is frequently used in industrial, home appliances, and automobiles to secure hoses and connections to prevent leaking and safe delivery of gas and liquid.
It is a relatively easy-to-use tool for attaching a hose to a pipe or fitting like a hose barb connector is an ear clamp. The clamp is a metal band with an outward-pointing "ear," with sides squeezed together to tighten the ring around a hose. In tightening, ear clamps have ears around the outside of the clamp. A tool crimps the ear to tighten the clamp.
