When a rocker switch is pressed, one side of the switch elevates while the other is depressed, resembling a rocking horse. It is known as tripping (as opposed to tripping). Certain rocker switches come with a circle on one end (for "on") and a horizontal dash or line (for "off") on the other. It allows the user to know whether the device is on or off. Rocker switches are a common component of surge protectors, monitors, computer power supplies, and many other items and systems. A light is well-turned on in a rocker switch on and off positions.
