SPRING, CLUTCH (PAF8-04000302) To soften the engagement of the clutch, springs are mounted on the inner hub of the clutch plate. They serve as a torsional vibration damper to tamp down variations in the engine's output. Since springs serve as dampers, power is delivered more linearly and smoothly.
