This spring washer from Volvo Penta, also known as a split lock washer, is a spherical helical spring metal washer meant to be placed beneath the head of a bolt or nut to keep it from vibrating loose. In other words, the springs within the washer provide pressure on the bolt and workpiece to secure them together. The black chromated surface of these steel washers offers additional protection and a sleek, professional appearance.
