A fuel gauge is a device that gauges the amount of gasoline in a vehicle. It contains a sensing or transmitting device that aids in measuring the amount of fuel.
The information from the sensing device by a gauge located outside the fuel tank calculates the amount of fuel. As the gasoline level in the tank falls, the float dips, and the wiper moves, causing increasing resistance. The amount of current returned to the gauge drops.
