Winch hook straps are a very straightforward winch attachment that can increase the safety of your winching. Use it to maintain stress on the line when playing the cable or reeling the winch cable back into the drum. They typically attach to the end of your winch wire and are composed of nylon or polyester. The winch hook strap prevents your hand and fingers from getting close to the fair lead since the winch will jam with the hook before they do. Once the gate opens, winch hook straps typically slide onto the cable hook. However, the strap occasionally can slip free.
