An onboard washdown system makes it simple to rinse the deck after a day of sailing. After landing a large fish, tidy up your cockpit, hose off the mucky anchor rode as your windlass raises it, or rinse the decks after a thorough cleaning. A 12V DC pump with an integrated pressure switch, a hose and nozzle, an inline filter, wiring, circuit protection, and connectors are all components of washdown systems. Put your pump in a convenient but out-of-the-way place. Even though these pumps are in wet environments, place the pump above the bilge's high water mark. Washdown pumps are frequently put in a secure area in a cockpit locker or beneath the gunwale of a boat.
