The mineral oil that has been blended with synthetic oils to improve engine performance is known as semi-synthetic engine oil. This mixed formula maintains the proper engine oil viscosity for high and low engine running temperatures.
Synthetic base oil is created by synthesizing new base oil components to provide a higher-performing base fluid. The base oil composition of semi-synthetic or part synthetic motor oils is a fabricated and traditional base oil. There is no standard for how much synthetic must be present in a semi- or part-synthetic motor oil. A correctly designed semi-synthetic motor oil can outperform a regular motor oil in terms of performance.
