Each high-quality pin is made of zinc-plated stainless steel and will endure a long time, reducing the need for replacements in your fastening tasks. Cotter pins are rounded-headed bent pins that slip into holes. They are also known as split pins or cotter keys. The two ends of the pin bend in opposite ways once inserted into the hole, deforming the pin and making it difficult to remove. Castle nuts are secured to a bolt using cotter pins, which prevent them from accidentally spinning loose.
