A fender is a bumper used in boating to absorb the kinetic energy of a boat or vessel moored against a pier, quay wall, or other vessels. Fenders protect vessels and berthing structures on many types of vessels, from cargo ships to cruise ships, ferries, and personal yachts. Meanwhile, fender support is a device that you can buy to reinforce the fender, giving you double the protection while keeping your fender intact. Steel is harder and more cost-effective than aluminum by default. Unpainted steel, on the other hand, is prone to corrosion, and stainless steel, with enough moisture exposure and abuse, can corrode as well.
