Jam nuts set Handi-Man Marine (592014) are composed of nuts, key, and c.pin. The jam nuts are low-profile nuts with a height of about half that of a regular nut. It's a locknut that's pushed against the work surface and utilized in places where an ordinary nut wouldn't fit. Jam nuts are ideal for industrial applications where a regular nut does not suit. They can be used with fasteners to help secure machines. Thread these nuts over bolts to keep them from loosening. They're better to use when there's not enough room for a regular nut to fit. Stainless steel and carbon steel nuts are available in a variety of forms. Our jam nuts have a hexagonal body and a circular opening. These nuts are placed onto the bolt and then tightened against one another. There are several reasons why you would want to utilize jam nuts. The first is when you're attaching anything to really soft material and can't risk damaging it by fastening against it. The second situation is when you need to attach something to the bolt while allowing it to move about on it.
