The Chesapeake Black-series gauges from Faria give your boat's gauge panel a stylish makeover. Every Chesapeake Black gauge has a sleek perimeter-lighted black dial with exquisite blue and white patterns. It has a domed glass lens and a polished stainless steel bezel. Electronic speedometers pick up the pulses released by a sensor. The pulses are then electrically converted to a speed measurement, similar to how a tachometer converts ignition pulses to RPM. Pitot tube speedometers work by pumping water into a pitot tube while applying to pressure it. This pressure is sents by flexible tubing to the bourdon tube movement inside the speedometer head, where it is converted into a speed readout by the movement mechanism.
