A malfunctioning thermostat can cause an engine to run at lower temperatures than it should, lowering performance and efficiency. The problem could be solved by just replacing the thermostat. EMP thermostats work with a wide variety of Yamaha outboard engines.
EMP THERMOSTAT (75-75509) is a component that monitors a system's temperature and keeps it within a set range. To heat or cool to a setpoint temperature, thermostats are used in building heating, central heating, air conditioners, HVAC systems, water heaters, kitchen appliances such as ovens and refrigerators, and medical and scientific incubators. The scientific literature typically refers to these devices as thermostatically regulated loads (TCLs). Thermostatically controlled loads account for roughly half of all electricity demand in the United States.
